03-05-2011

This past weekend saw all Toti Seniors playing. 3 team played at Toti High due to Hutchison Park being used for the Highland Gathering. The 3rd Team palyed away at Yellowwoodpark. The U20 kick the day of against Quins U20B. At halftime the score was still close but Toti was behind.
The second half saw Quins pull away with a final score of 47 to 7. Next to follow was Toti 2nd Team. They are the only unbeaten team in their League and they were determend to keep their record intact. It was a phisical game and on numerous occasions it looked the aggression was going to boil over but Toti kept their cool and had a lead of 24 - 0 at Halftime. Words like crush them and send a message to all the other teams was mentoined at half time and it seem to do the trick. Immediately after halftime Toti started the score board rolling again and with about 10 to 15 minutes to go Toti started taking the foot of the gas and South coast warriors treid to put some points on the board but excellant "in your face" defence kept Warriors out and Toti kicked into High gear again scoring some more treis. The final Score was 66 to 0. Well done to the boys. Tries were scored by the following players: Duanne Cambpell, Brett Lawrence,Ryan Groger and Jacques Hefer all cross the Line once and Wimpie Pretorius, Ryno Els and Charles Young both scored twice. The Conversions was shared between Charles Young and Wimpie Pretorius. They slotted 4 each. Man of the match (forwards) Charles Young and (Backline) Wimpie Pretorius.

Toti 1st XV played against a SCW side that was determined to spoil our progression to the Top 5 of the Dewar Shield competition. It was Toti that put the first on the board when Captain Roche Kleynhans slotted a penalty in very windy conditions. A further 7 points were added when Louios Joubert went over the try Line to score a brilliant try after the back and forwards combined beautifully from the halfway line. This was however where SCW came back scoring 20 unanswerred points as a result of silly mistakes by the home side. Turning at 20-10 down, Toti Eagles played some beautifull positive rugby, scoriing 3 tries in the process to give them a well earned bonus point 32-28 victory. Mention must be made of the kicking of Rouche in trying conditions slotting three conversitions and two penalties. Tries were scored by Louis Joubert (2), Wayne Theunissen and Jarryd Byrne. Damon Cousins and Dylan Tidbury received the man of the match awards. The 3rd team aslo started theur campaing of with a 19 -16 win over Yellowwood Park. All the teams are playing away this weekend. The U20 travel to South Coasr Warriors on Friday, The 3rds to Westville Old Boys also Friday and on Saturday the 1st and 2nd Team Travel up to the North Coast to face the New comers as well as Giant Killers in Richardsbay. We wish them all the Luck.
